E's Cooking Thoughts and Reflections:

I've grown up with a gourmet home chef for a mother. I, "E" have inherited her passion for food. There are only a few times in my childhood that I can remember not enjoying what my mother made for dinner. Of those times, lamb was prepared, for which I did not yet have an appreciation for. I also never seemed to be that thrilled about "Sloppy Joes". Aren't all kids supposed to love "Sloppy Joes"?

My love and passion for food grows everyday. I grew up in an Italian household, so needless to say we ate Italian food quite often. In my younger years, I almost dreaded those nights. These days I find myself craving Italian food constantly. I love to be at my mothers house when we preparing our "made from scratch sauce". It's very labor intensive, but well worth the work.

I am very adventuresome when it comes to preparing a meal. I like to try new food all the time. I am willing to try a new style of cooking or a new technique. There are times when these new styles or techniques don't turn out the way I would like or would have thought. One of the reasons for this website is to help encourage and teach people that things do go wrong in the kitchen, and to try again.

I have had a few odd jobs in the food world. I worked at Starbucks, which was due to the fact I love coffee. It was great, while working you could have as much coffee products as you would like. I would go home at the end of the day smelling like coffee - a wonderful smell. I also work for Whole Foods Market as a cheese buyer and wine buyer. Yum cheese and wine, I love it.

My kitchen. For sale; make offer. Okay, I'm joking....but not exactly. I love my condo but we have out grown it. (It's a studio condo of only 550 square feet) You can see we completely remodeled the kitchen with the thought of relocating but due to the housing market crash it appears we are stuck here. I bought it before getting married and for one person it was fine, now not so much.

I have two crazy kitties but love dogs and had started out with a collection of dog stuff, but slowly cat stuff is creeping in.
