A pretty fun event that we like to go to is the Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy. The next one is April 24th, and 25th 2010. The hours are from 11 AM to 6 PM each day. It's an artist festival that features a full array of art and artists, but also includes a partnering with the local restaurants, and this year they've added activities for kids.

This is always fun, the Sicilian Italian Festival. May 23, 2010, from 10 AM to 6 PM. They've got great entertainment, the Roman Holiday Ensemble, Balboa Park Italian Dance Troupe, and at noon the Sicilian Flag Procession. Of course lots of food and goodies to buy. Don't miss it!

Each year our family goes to the Little Italy Festa for food and fun in October. It's considered the largest single-day Italian American festivals on the west coast. There's music and entertainment all day, and of course food! This years event is Sunday, October 10th, 2010.

For the events like these, we find it easier to take the trolley down. We just park at the Mission Valley Station and find it to be easier than driving and looking for a parking spot near India Street. The trolley is pretty crowded on event days so it's safe, and it's nice not worrying about the car.
Take the time and visit the Water Conservation Garden. Great ideas for reducing water intake with lots of landscape examples. A good time to go is in April when they have their Spring Festival and awards ceremony. This year they are having their 10th anniversary, so they have a bit more planned. We do plan on attending.
